The perfect yoga block – stable support for your practice

You can find yoga blocks made of ultra-light and super-robust material at YOGISTAR in various sizes and designs. You're sure to find the perfect yoga block for your needs! Our large selection offers you blocks in various colors, designs and materials.

This way you can easily find the right yoga block for your asana practice. What is a yoga block used for? For many yogis and yoginis, the yoga block is almost part of the basic equipment - very few want to do without it. The yoga block is not only used in yoga styles that traditionally work with tools (this applies in particular to Iyengar yoga), but also in numerous other yoga styles. Versatile, your yoga block can be used both as support and to bridge gaps. Asanas can be made easier or more challenging as needed. It can also be used to correct slight imbalances or poor posture. Thanks to your yoga block, targeted fine-tuning is possible, which brings you closer to the goals of your yoga practice in a convenient and easy way. Experienced yoga teachers can suggest numerous possible uses that are individually tailored to you. We have summarized some common examples of how a yoga block can be used here:

How to use your yoga block: Concrete examples

  • In triangle (Trikonasana) the hand can be placed on the yoga block if the floor cannot be reached. The same applies to the half moon (Ardha Chandrasana).
  • In the shoulder bridge (Setubandhasana), a yoga block can be placed between the knees so that you can press your legs against the block and thus create tension.
  • In the dog pose (Adhomukha-Svhanasana) a yoga block can be placed under each hand. The head can also be placed on it.
  • In butterfly pose (Baddha-Konasana) and reclining butterfly pose (Supta Baddha-Konasana) the yoga block can be placed under the knees.
  • In the inversion mudra (Viparita-Karani-Mudra), which is similar to the shoulder stand, the buttocks can be supported by the yoga block.
  • In fish pose (Matsyendrasana) a yoga block can be placed under the upper back (in the area of the thoracic spine).
  • etc.

Requirements for a yoga block – the most important criteria

There are three key properties that every block must fulfill. These are:

  • stability
  • ease
  • no sharp edges

The yoga block should of course reliably withstand all the stresses it is subjected to during use. It must be robust and stable - these are absolute basic requirements for a yoga block and a matter of course for the models in our range. You can rely completely on the stability of all YOGISTAR yoga blocks. At the same time, a material that is lightweight is an advantage, as this makes the yoga block easy to handle and can also be easily taken to the yoga studio, etc. That is why we preferred light materials for our yoga blocks. It goes without saying that there are no sharp edges - this poses a risk of injury, which is why we pay attention to this. A block from Yogistar is well thought out and 100% practical.

Of course, we also always strive to offer you a product that exactly matches your taste.

Your yoga block from YOGISTAR should meet your individual needs and be an addition to your yoga practice that you will never want to give up. That's why YOGISTAR offers you blocks in different shapes and sizes. You're also spoiled for choice when it comes to the material of your block.

The different yoga blocks from YOGISTAR at a glance

  • The “ yogiblock basic ” block made of ultra-light but absolutely stable hard foam has a good standard size and can be used portrait or flat.
  • The “yogiblock big” model is the big brother of the “yogiblock basic”. For anyone who wants a special design, we also offer this yoga block with the beautiful OM print and in the unusual “Indian Flower” look (matches the “yogimat basic” Indian Flower yoga mat and the “yogimat basic OM” yoga mat!).
  • The yoga block “yogiblock super size” has a special size – ideal for “special operations”, e.g. when large distances need to be bridged.
  • The yoga block “ yogiblock flat ” is the flat and wide version. If a block in standard format is too big for your specific needs, or if you need a wider surface with a lower height, this is the right format for you.
  • The yoga block “yogiblock shoulder stand” offers an extra-wide surface and is – as the name suggests – ideal for the shoulder stand Sarvangasana.
  • The oval yoga block “yogiblock egg” is an ingenious tool for “chest openers” like Matsyendrasana.
  • The yoga block “yogiblock wave” is also characterized by its special shape and fits wonderfully in the hand.
  • The yoga block “ yogiblock cork ” is an excellent alternative for all yogis and yoginis who prefer natural materials. Just like the “yogiblock basic”, this block is available in three different sizes.
  • The yoga block “yogiblock bamboo” also stands out due to its great natural material.

The yoga block – also in your studio?

If you are a yoga teacher and use aids in your classes, you can of course also purchase the yoga block from YOGISTAR in larger quantities for your yoga studio and benefit from the yoga teacher discount. Choose the colors that match your classroom and inspire your students with high-quality equipment.

FAQ

How many yoga blocks do you need? Is one yoga block enough?

How many blocks are optimal for you depends entirely on what exactly you want to use the tool for. Specialists such as the "yogiblock shoulder stand" do not need a partner. Of course, all other blocks can also be used individually, for example as a rest for the forehead in dog or placed between the knees. Two yoga blocks are particularly useful for use under the hands or feet. This of course also expands the possible uses.

Can I only use the yoga block in combination with other aids?

A yoga block works wonderfully with other tools, but it also looks good on its own - for this reason, it is part of the standard equipment for many yogis and yoginis, along with the yoga mat. So if you want to choose just one tool, the block is a good choice.

Can the yoga block also be used by beginners or is it only recommended for advanced practitioners?

Beginners in particular can benefit from the many uses of the yoga block. The block can make it easier to perform certain asanas and help to adjust the posture so that small deficiencies are compensated and misalignments in the posture are counteracted. Advanced practitioners can make their asanas more challenging. Your yoga teacher can show you how you can work effectively with the yoga block.

Which yoga block is right for me?

You can choose your yoga block from our wide range of products. Whether made from flexible foam or supportive bamboo, our experts will be happy to advise you if you are unsure.
