Kapok fibre is a natural, vegetable fibre obtained from the seeds of the kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra). It is considered one of the lightest and softest natural fibres and is used in many different ways due to its unique properties.
- Lightness: Kapok fibres are extremely light and consist of around 80% air, making them one of the lightest natural fibres.
- Softness: The fibres are silky soft and feel pleasant against the skin.
- Water-repellent: Thanks to their natural wax layer, kapok fibres are water-repellent and dry quickly.
- Breathability: Kapok is extremely breathable and ensures a pleasant climate.
- Hypoallergenic: The fibres are resistant to mites and bacteria, making them ideal for allergy sufferers.
- Sustainability: Kapok is harvested without pesticides or chemical additives and is completely biodegradable.
