A meadow instead of a studio, birdsong instead of a playlist. We’ve put together everything your outdoor practice really needs—made from cork, jute, cotton, and natural rubber.
The ground gives way, the wind rustles the leaves, the light dances across the mat. Anyone who’s ever practiced outdoors knows: it’s not the same as practicing indoors—and that’s exactly what makes it so appealing.
To make outdoor practice practical, you need gear that can handle it: grippy when it gets damp; durable enough for grass, sand, and forest floors; light enough to carry with you at all; and ideally made from materials that belong right where you’re practicing.
natural materials
Cork, jute, natural rubber, and cotton. Plant-based rather than petroleum-based.
Grip in wet conditions
Cork becomes more grippy the wetter it gets—ideal for warm days outdoors.
Durable & easy to care for
Grass, sand, forest floor: tap off, shake out, wipe with a damp cloth.
Good to carry
Bags that hold the mat, block, strap, and towel all at once.
Natural cork meets natural rubber—and features a delicate, tactile laser engraving. The surface remains matte and comfortable, and the grip improves as soon as a little moisture comes into play. Outdoors on a warm summer evening, that’s exactly the right quality.
The engravings on the cork nature are not printed—they are burned into the cork surface and can therefore be felt with your fingertips. There are two systems to choose from:
Spiralignment —a subtle spiral pattern that helps you position your hands and feet symmetrically.
Brushed alignment —clean lines and a central mandala to guide standing poses and inversions.
Both versions are designed to be so understated that they don’t distract you in everyday life—but they’re there when you need them.
Blocks, rolls, and balls made of natural cork: warm to the touch, retain their shape under weight, and are pleasantly heavy enough to prevent anything from slipping away. Cork is a renewable resource—the bark of the cork oak is harvested without cutting down the tree.
Blocks, rolls, balls, and mats
Before yoga mats existed, there were yoga rugs. 100% cotton, hand-woven, no plastic. The big advantage on warm days: Cotton absorbs sweat instead of letting it pool on the surface like a plastic mat does—so your hands and feet stay grippy. And if the mat picks up grass and dirt from the field, just toss it in the washing machine at 30 °C.

Practical Tips
Run your hand quickly over the surface: It’s better to find stones, pinecones, and thistles beforehand than while preparing for a handstand.
On soft or uneven surfaces, it’s best to place the yoga rug on top of a Yoga mat. The mat provides grip and cushioning, while the rug offers an absorbent surface.
Early morning and the hour before sunset are more pleasant than the midday heat—and the light is more beautiful.
The sun at your back instead of in your eyes. Sounds trivial, but it saves every backbend.
A large bag saves you a second trip back to the car.
Good to know
Everything you need to know about cork, carpet, and shipping. Can’t find your question here? We’d be happy to advise you personally.
Yes—cork is perfectly suited for this. The surface becomes more grippy when slightly damp, and dirt can be brushed off or wiped away with a damp cloth. However, you shouldn’t expose the mat to prolonged wetness or direct, intense sunlight for hours on end, so that the natural rubber on the underside remains elastic for a long time.
Cork: Shake out, wipe with a damp cloth, and let dry flat—do not put in the washing machine. The cotton yoga mat, on the other hand, can be machine-washed at 30 °C.
Spiralignment is a delicate spiral pattern designed for the symmetrical alignment of hands and feet. Brushed alignment features clean lines and a central mandala. Both are engraved into the cork, making them tactile. You’ll find them on the yogimat® cork nature – art collection.
It works well on a mowed, level surface. On very soft or uneven ground, we recommend placing it over a mat—that way, you’ll have both cushioning and stability.
The yogibag pro holds mats up to 69 cm in roll length—which covers all standard mats in standard widths. For XXL or extra-thick mats, check out the extra-big models.
A mat or rug, a block, and a strap are all you need. A cork block is practical for outdoor use because it won’t blow away and withstands moisture well—you’ll find all models in the cork collection.
You’ll find everything from this selection in our shop—plus over 1,000 additional items for your yoga practice.
