YOGISTAR Charity: Shanti Ananda Nature Concept School

At the Shanti Ananda Nature Concept School in Mudigubba / India, children from poor backgrounds receive not only a school education but also an education of the heart: In addition to the classical subjects, yoga, Vedic chanting and meditation are also part of the curriculum. Through gardening together and contact with animals, the children are also taught a love of nature and an awareness of the issue of environmental protection.

Since 2015, we have been happy to support the work of the Shanti Ananda Nature Concept School through both monetary and in-kind donations, which are made possible through the purchase of YOGISTAR products. We have been able to support the following projects in the past years:

• In 2015, we supported the school with yoga mats from our range, which are still eagerly used for yoga practice. A financial donation also enabled the purchase of yoga clothing for the children and further training for the teachers. The older school children and the parents are responsible for the care and maintenance of the clothing, which is ideal for yoga classes thanks to the stretchy material. It is owned by the school and is passed on to the children of the following generations of students.
• In 2016, we financed the playground equipment for the first and only playground in Mudigubba: On the school's property, the children can now romp on the slide, seesaw, swing, climbing frame and merry-go-round, which were designed, built and painted by the school itself.
• In 2017, we made it possible with a financial donation to build and decorate a multi-purpose hall for assemblies, cultural events and for yoga classes. The lovingly designed amphitheatre now seats up to 200 people. The roof structure has been planted with plants and the floor and seating areas have been creatively decorated with colourful mosaics.
